The Darwan Singh Regimental Museum is a really cool place to visit in Lansdowne. It’s only about 500 meters away from the Lansdowne Market, near the Parade Ground. This museum is special because it holds a lot of old stuff from the Garhwal Rifles, like uniforms, weapons, and other historical things.
The museum is named after Darwan Singh Negi, who was a brave soldier. He did amazing things during World War I and even won the Victoria Cross, which is a really big honor. The museum was set up in 1983 to remember him and to keep the history of the Garhwal Regiment alive.
Inside, there are two floors full of interesting things to see. You can look at pictures of soldiers from different times, learn about battles they fought, and see old uniforms and medals. There are also cool things like war trophies, old documents, and even a garden outside to relax in.
If you want to visit, it costs Rs.50 for each person. The museum is closed on Sundays, but you can go any other day between 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. It’s a great place to learn about history and honor the brave soldiers who fought for our country.
